The First Bloom

One can always tell what month it is in South Africa by which tree is blooming, or which insect is flying around. In October, the jacaranda trees bloom. In November, the Christmas beetles come out. In December, butterflies are everywhere. And I know it's January because my young bauhinia tree is blooming.

You are so right! For some reason, I used to think [just from my observation] that April is the month for red/purple/orange colours in flowers. [mostly] I've read your entry about the singing birds and one of our Church members had made a remark about that one morning in Church too! One birdie starts them all off. And then suddenly....all quiet. I think they want to announce the day... :)
