A Note to Bafana Bafana

South Africa lost to Brazil in the semi-finals, but Brazil only scored one goal (and that in the last three minutes of the game). So, to Bafana Bafana I say:

You didn't win, but you played your hearts out - a technically and passionately brilliant game. You did well, and you did it with the world laughing in your face. I'm so proud of you and proud to be a part of South Africa. You have won my respect. Ke a leboga.

I watched both the USA-Spain and Brazil-RSA games on ESPN here in the States. So very proud of the USA for their "miracle on ice" caliber victory over Spain. Wanted so badly for RSA to beat Brazil. But they definitely played a respectable game. Despite the few press reports I've read of some hotel room theft, I think RSA showed that the country will be more than ready for the World Cup next year. Here's to hoping that both USA and Bafana Bafana can duplicate their successes on that stage!

Yeah, but the funny thing is, there's probably hotel room crime everywhere in the world.

And yes, they're ready to host the World Cup next year; hope you'll be here to enjoy it!

Are you watching the final this weekend? Maybe South Africa will beat Spain for 3rd place!
